“I wanted to say what an amazing job you have done, Duda. Well done! It is excellent. I can see you have been working very hard – it is not easy to choose from so much material and then translate it from the English. Your knowledge of the English language is impressive. I have tried to read some of your commentary (using my rudimentary Latin!) but wish I could understand more. I see you have drawn on Tim Snyder’s and Anne Applebaum’s works which are great. Ray Gamache’s book is also really well researched. I am glad that you have covered all three visits to the USSR, not just the one in 1933. It is wonderful that you have taken your task so seriously and we are very grateful to you for bringing Gareth’s story and writings to the attention of readers in Portuguese. Thank you.
I would also like to say what a lovely physical book it is. The pictures, layout and paper quality are all excellent.
Anyway, thank you again for sending me a copy and congratulations on the great work you have achieved. It is much appreciated.”
